Candy By Kevin Brooks

"She'll think shes dying. She'll think she's going mad. She'll be irritable and depressed,       sleepless, sick, she'll hurt all over-stomach cramps, muscle pains, diarrhea, fever-she'll shout at you, she'll hate you, she'll lie to you, she'll probally get violent with you... Do you think your up for it?"  Page: 235.
Do people ever change, or do they just grow into new things and develop new interests? Joe was the type of teenager who was very involved with his music, and spent most of the time hanging with his friends. Joe played in a band called the "Katie's" and went to high school. There are all kinds of different crowds at high schools, we've got the "preps", the "good kids", the "jocks", the "skids", and the "bad kids". I consider the "bad kids" a type of group that doesn't go to school and who do drugs, most people assume right off the bat that all bad kids do drugs. When people do drugs it often results in desperation, and their "need to have". Most girls sell themselves in order to make money or in this case "dance" for their addiction "Pimps" commonly provide their supply of money and drugs. Candy a girl with self pitty and no edict towards herself has change someones life completely. It starts as an attraction, a crush... and then turns into something more like an obsession, ...a obsession for Candy and Candy's obsession for heroin.
